Lake Rebecca Project
Keith-Kilkenny Tectonic Zone
Gold mineral rights
- 135 km NNE of Kalgoorlie on sealed and gravel roads
- KAL has gold mineral rights on 14 tenements in the Keith-Kilkenny Tectonic Zone
- Not explored for gold in decades
- Inexpensive, targeted re-assaying of archived nickel laterite pulps to lead gold exploration program
- Gold-fertile Keith-Kilkenny Tectonic Zone is host to Apollo Hill, Carosue Dam, Mulgabbie, and the Breaker Resources Lake Roe discovery
- Cost effective exploration from projects untested for gold (historic nickel focus)
- Geological reinterpretation and targeting underway
- Re-assay of archived nickel laterite pulps
- Successful gold discovery programs to be replicated (Ardea’s Goongarrie nickel deposits)
- Lake Rebecca
- Adjacent historic gold workings
- 13m at 1.2g/t Au adjacent to tenure
- 12 km directly along strike from Northern Star’s Carosue Dam gold mine and OzAurum’s promising Mulgabbie North project
The Lake Rebecca project is located 115 km northeast of Kalgoorlie. The area is of great interest as it is located on the Keith-Kilkenny Tectonic Zone along strike from Northern Star’s Carosue Dam Operations, the Mulgabbie gold mining centre, OzAurum’s Mulgabbie North gold project, and Nexus Mineral’s (ASX: NXM) Wallbrook gold project. Northern Star’s and OzAurum’s tenement holdings and applications wrap entirely around KalGold’s tenure at Lake Rebecca. The project tenure has historically had a nickel laterite focus, with limited systematic exploration for gold. Mining Corporation of Australia (MCA) held this ground in the mid-1990s and completed wide spaced RAB and limited RC drilling for gold along the sheared western contact of the ultramafic sequence, with some encouraging results worthy of follow up. Much of this historic drilling has never been assayed for gold, presenting an opportunity for KalGold to make a gold discovery in a highly prospective area.
